How do I RSVP?
Use the RSVP Tab on this website to let us know you are coming.
When should I arrive / depart?
You should arrive in Quito by Friday 26th to join the pre-wedding drinks in the evening.
We recommend arriving a couple days in advance to acclimate to the altitude and adjust to the time zone difference.
What is the best route to fly into Quito?
There are direct daily flights to Quito departing from Amsterdam with KLM, Madrid with Iberia and Air Europa, Houston with United Airlines, Miami with American Airlines and Latam Airlines, New York with Avianca, Atlanta with Delta Airlines and Panama with Copa Airlines.
If flying from London, we also recommend flying with Avianca via Bogota.
Where should I stay in Quito?
We have included our recommended hotels in the Where to Stay page.
How high is Quito and how does it affect me?
Quito is located at 2,800m above sea level, so expect to feel the effects from reduced oxygen levels.
To manage the effects, we recommend you avoid strenuous exercise on the first day and stay hydrated with additional electrolytes.
Make sure you use sun protection as there is higher risk of UV exposure closer to the Equator.
We also suggest you watch your alcohol intake, as you might feel its effects much faster than elsewhere.
What is the local currency?
Ecuador uses U.S. dollars as official currency. We recommend having some spare change for taxis as they generally accept only cash.
How to get around Quito?
We recommend using Uber around Quito. It is unlikely that drivers will speak English but they should get you to your destination safely.
Is Ecuador safe?
Ecuador does not enjoy the same levels of safety as European and American cities, so we do encourage you to stay vigilant.
Please refrain from using public transportation and prioritise using Uber or hotel taxis to get around town, in particular after the sun goes down.
Will transportation to the venue be provided?
We will arrange for transportation to and from the wedding venue for our out of town guests. We will share a detailed schedule closer to the date.
What is the weather like in Quito?
During September, you can expect the weather to be around 18-21°C during the day and 6-8°C during the night, so make sure you bring something warmer for the evening.
Can we bring our children?
We would prefer to have our guests enjoy a child-free evening on the wedding day.
However, we understand that several of our guests will be travelling with their little ones so we will arrange for childcare service at the venue so you can stay close to them through the evening. Please let us know if you will require this service so we can plan accordingly.
What is the dress code?
For the pre-wedding drinks we request a casual attire.
For the wedding ceremony and reception we request formal attire, with suits, white shirts, and ties for men and midi or long dresses for women. If wearing a dress, please bring some cover for the evening as temperature drops after the sun goes down.
Is there a registry?
No, the fact that you are joining us in Ecuador is a gift in itself.
